Sensitization Session 1 was a Success!

ree

The first Sensitization Session on March 7, 2023 was a success! It allowed for members to understand the rationale and thinking behind the provisions outlined in the Proposed Constitution. The session, led by Mrs. Rochelle Channer Miller, Secretary, and facilitated by chair of the Constitution Committee, Dr. Tina Beale involved a presentation to the members followed by a discussion forum. With approximately 25 members present for most of the session, the written vision for the Association, including the goal of Local and Global Recognition and the steps needed to get there were made plain.

Our members have caught the vision and questions related to who can be member; CPD requirements; the interaction of the provisions with the regulatory standards; having more autonomy and authority over processes that affect valuation practice; and, taking a leading role in public discourse and policy related to real estate were well fielded by the team.

President Williamson's post session comment was "Very good session and I’m feeling extremely positive about our progress tonight. Thanks to everyone who joined and contributed". In concurring, Immediate Past President Taylor shared his joy in coming to this point of what was invariably a herculean task and eventful journey.

The next steps include collecting written feedback via the Feedback Form found here: https://tinyurl.com/ALEVSFeedback. Sensitization Session 2 on next week Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 6:00 pm will facilitate discourse on the second document, The Code of Ethical Conduct. Click RSVP below to receive the meeting link.
